Broad Run Celebrates 2025 Century Club Event
Jack-CC.JPEG

Two Broad Run riders, Jack Morris and Chris Webber, complete their Century Club tests with horses Pinky and Legend.

April 2025

The weather was rainy, the ring was soggy and to top that off, we had an all-day bike race in front of the show ring! Still, Jack and Pinky, and Chris and Legend had great rides, and it was so special to see them and cheer them on.

The full show included a total of six rides - 2 riding first level test 2 for the first time, 1 riding in their first show, and 1 riding on a newer horse, and our fabulous 2 century rides.

Best of all, our entire barn supported each other and helped pull of this little, yet spectacular event. Such a great group!

Thanks to Evelyn Martin for coming out to judge and a round of applause for the amazing cake - both design and taste - made by Kerin, enjoyed by all!

Check out photos from the show our Photo Gallery page.

It's Been a While!

May 2025

I know it's been a bit ;-). We've been too busy horsing around and haven't shared any updates in the last couple of years. Here we go:

  • Beth Brooke and I (Cathy Echternach) have new mounts - Jupiter and Hercules. Both are absolute gems in every way and we're enjoying the journey each of us are experiencing with these wonderful new horses.

  • In November 2024 we lost our beloved barn icon, Whippoorwill Dorado. He was a very talented and lovely horse owned by Kathy Abbett. Kathy completed her 1st PSG test in October of 2024 with Dory and their ride was magnificent. Dory was previously my Grand Prix horse, helping me achieve my Gold Medal and Gold Bar, and my Silver Medal and Silver Bar. We know he's resting in peace, and we thank him for all the joy he brought to Kathy, me and many others.

  • I finally finished my Silver Bar with scores from Mythic Pamba, aka Smith. A big thank you to Kaite Hubbell for supporting my endeavors with her horse! I also want to thank Beth Brooke for generously allowing me to use her musical freestyle produced by Debbie Marriott. It takes a village!

  • Honoring Sheila O'Neill - we sadly lost longtime friend and client, Sheila, who was a true force of nature! She boarded and trained with me for over 25 years. I had the opportunity to ride and show her talented stable of horses over the years - Fairfax, Magnum, and Vodermus. She also had a very special horse named Gladiator, aka Glad. Glad suffered a career-ending injury but helped several folks start their riding and showing careers. He and Sheila were true gems, and we miss them.
